Period Property Restoration in Kensington
Restoration of Georgian and Victorian homes in Kensington: original floors, facades, brickwork and windows, with kitchens and bathrooms updated.
Period Property Restoration in Kensington
We specialise in Georgian and Victorian houses. Restoring one starts with the original fabric, the floors, windows, facade and joinery that give the house its character. We assess each at the start of a project and restore whatever its condition allows.
Original floors
Our craftsmen repair, restore and refinish original Georgian and Victorian floors using traditional techniques. Where a hall or kitchen calls for tile or stone, intricate mosaics and geometric patterns are planned and laid by hand.
Facades, brickwork and windows
Externally, we restore facades, brickwork and windows, returning the building to its finest form. Where original detail has been lost or damaged beyond repair, replacements are made to match what survives, in material, profile and finish.
Bringing the house up to date
Kitchens, bathrooms and services are updated around the architecture, and bespoke joinery, marble and stone are designed with the proportions of the house in mind. If the house is listed or in a conservation area, the necessary consents are in place before work begins.
Our work extends across Kensington, South Kensington and neighbouring areas of west London.
